I took a look back on how things used to go
and doing so proved how little dwelling had to show
A convoluted waste of business to pull apart and break down, get better now.
I can't complain about past mistakes
'Cause lately all that I've seen are brighter days
I'm looking up with a better view
I think I'm part of something
I'm part of something new
I was scared I'd become quite selfish
The grin I wore just might break a mirror or two
But shattered glass on the ground is painless
Just watch your step, don't look back
Do what you do
See, it wasn't so bad
I could've felt this way forever
Why would I get so mad
by things I couldn't change
(That never once deserved my time)
Maybe I should live and let live
(Maybe I should bite my tongue)
But I won't, I won't
The hell, I won't
Just take your time, take it day by day
Who cares what all the rest have to say
To get back up and keep standing tall
takes more strength than you think
'Cause maybe I could've been less careless
But that would not have helped me learn just who I am
Did my best not to end up vicious
But bottom line, I just did what i had to do
